Alternatively, you will find Settings icon on some devices. <\/li><li>When you are in the Settings option, you need to look for \u201cData and Storage Usage\u201d option, when tapped you will be taken to a new screen.<\/li><li>There will be a heading, \u201cMedia Auto-Download\u201d under it you will see different options for Photos, Audio, Videos, and Documents.<\/li><li>You can select each one by one, and choose whether you want to download data: Never, Wi-Fi or Wi-Fi and Cellular.<\/li><li>Now all you have to do is select \u201cNever\u201d, which will disallow WhatsApp to download any media on your smartphone, no matter you are using Wi-Fi or Cellular data.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">When you are done following the above five steps, <\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>WhatsApp won\u2019t save the pictures without any permission. Whenever someone sends you images, videos, documents or audio files you will have to download them by tapping on them in the chat.
